WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.-- The Wake Forest volleyball team improved to 8-1 on the 2003 season with a three-game sweep of the Radford Highlanders on Friday evening at Reynolds Gymnasium. A large crowd was on hand to watch Wake Forest take the first match of the Black & Gold Challenge.

A number of Deacs put together solid performances, including seniors Jessica Hauff and Katy de Roeck who combined for 16 kills. De Roeck also notched 11digs. Sophomore setter Erin Borhart led all players with 35 assists and added eight kills of her own. Valerie Rydberg, Ashley Fisher and Morgan Havig also contributed for Wake Forest.

The Demon Deacons will take on Campbell at noon on Saturday and will come back at 7 pm to host the 19th ranked Louisville Cardinals in the final match of the Black & Gold Challenge.
