Cross Country Completes Day At Roy Griak Invitational

ST. PAUL, MN.-- The Wake Forest cross country teams completed their third race of the season on Saturday at the Roy Griak Invitational. The sixth-ranked Demon Deacon women placed eighth in a field of 26 while the men finished 22nd out of 30 teams. In her first race of the season, Annie Bersagel did a remarkable job for the Deacs, placing fifth overall out of more than 250 competitors. Sean Stevens was the top finisher for the men's team, placing 62nd.
Including Bersagel, the Wake Forest women had four runners finish in the top 50 overall. Anna Sherman placed 38th, while Michelle Sikes and Hanna Bremler came in back-to-back at 48th and 49th. Selina Sekulic, Erin Franklin, Lisa Gibbs, Catherine Fortin-Major, Denise Hefferin, and Rachel Mistur also competed for the Demon Deacons.
On the men's side, Stevens came in 62nd and Nathan Sisco placed 69th overall. Also competing were Dave Barrett, Chris Elder, Brandon Bartholomew, Chris Catton, Brad Wharton, Matt Busick, Brian Smith and Dave Sumner.
