Wake Forest Picked Sixth in Preseason ACC Baseball Poll

Winston-Salem, N.C. - The Wake Forest baseball team was selected to finish sixth in the Atlantic Coast Conference preseason coaches poll, the league announced on Thursday. The Demon Deacons received one first place vote among the league's nine coaches.
Florida State (61) was selected to finish second, followed by Clemson (60), North Carolina (58) and NC State (52). Virginia was picked to finish seventh (28), Duke (17), Maryland (16).
The Deacons, ranked 45th nationally in the preseason by Baseball America, return three starters and eight pitchers from last year's 29-24 team.
Wake Forest, led by 17th year head coach George Greer, opens its regular season schedule at Davidson on February 17. The home opener is schedule for February 24 against Appalachian State at 3:00 p.m.
