Deacs Compete At North Carolina Invitational

CHAPEL HILL, N.C.-- Five different members of the Wake Forest track and field team competed at the North Carolina Invitational at the Eddie Smith Field House on Friday and Saturday in Chapel Hill.
Freshman Jill Ahrens set a personal record in the pole vault with an 11-01.75 mark which put her in seventh place. Senior Jamie Grayzer placed fifth in the pentathlon event with a score of 3267 while junior Cassy Richards finished ninth with a score of 3060.
On the men's side, senior Luke Orman and junior Michael Piscetelli each competed in the heptathlon. Orman finished sixth with a score of 4275 while Piscetelli's score of 4191 was good for eighth place.
The Wake Forest track and field team will split up to attend a number of different competitions next weekend. The Deacs will travel to the Tyson Invitational (Fayetteville, Ark.), Alex Wilson Invitational (South Bend, Ind.), USATF Cross Country Championships (Indianapolis, Ind.), and the Carolina Classic (Chapel Hill, NC)
