GREENSBORO, N.C.-- Three members of the Wake Forest track and field team were named All-ACC for the indoor season, the league announced Monday. Senior Nikeya Green, sophomore Lindsay Neuberger and sophomore Michael Loyd each received recognition for their accomplishments at last weekend's ACC Championships held in Clemson.
Green captured the 800m title with a time of 2:06.69 which was nearly two seconds faster than North Carolina's Alice Schmidt. The senior from Alexandria, Va. has recorded three NCAA provisional qualifying times in the 800m this season and is one of the most decorated athletes in Wake Forest track and field history. Green is a four-time All-American and has now been named All-ACC four different times in the 800m.
Sophomore Lindsay Neuberger set a new Wake Forest shot put record at the ACC Championships with a distance of 51'-01.50" and placed second overall, earning All-ACC recognition. This marks the Virginia Beach, Va. native's third All-ACC nomination in the shot put.
Winston-Salem native Mike Loyd ran an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 7.89 in the 60m hurdles finals last Saturday. This time was good enough for second place at the ACC Championships and Loyd was named All-ACC for the first time in his career.
