NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Wake Forest women's tennis team upended #57 Yale, 4-3, in women's college tennis action from Cullman Courts. With the victory, the Demon Deacons improve to 4-0, while the Bulldogs fall to 2-1.

#15 junior Karin Coetzee improved to 3-0 on the season with her 6-0, 6-0 rout of Christine Alford at No. 1 singles. Coetzee has not dropped a single set so far this spring.

#94 junior Katie Martzolf played the only three set match of the day. Martzolf rallied after dropping the opening set for a 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 victory over Karlyn Martin.

Freshman Ashlee Davis and senior Aimee Smith both dropped straight set matches at No. 3 and No. 4 singles, respectively. Davis lost to Reshmi Srinath, 6-2, 7-5, while Smith lost, 6-1, 6-4 to Ashley Martin.

Junior Danielle Schwartz picked up the final singles victory for the Deacs at No. 5. Schwartz defeated Rashmee Patil, 6-2, 6-1.

The Demon Deacons swept all three doubles matches. At No. 1 doubles, Martzolf and Davis hammered the Martin sisters, 8-2. Smith and Schwartz edged Alford and Aimee Kim, 8-6 at No. 2 doubles, while senior Liz Proctor and Coetzee defeated Srinath and Patil, 8-3.

Wake Forest returns to action Saturday, February 21 against Tennessee. First-serve is scheduled for noon at the Wake Forest Indoor Tennis Center.
