2004 NCAA Men's Tournament
First/Second Rounds

Raleigh, N.C.
Taron Downey, Junior Guard
On three consecutive losses coming into NCAA Tournament
"We lost three games, yeah but now it's a new season. We're in the tournament and everybody is 0-0, if you win you advance, if you lose you go home and your next game is in November."
Justin Gray, Sophomore Guard
On Wake's fast-paced style of play
"I think we're going to try and play the same way as far as being aggressive. This is a time for people to step up and make plays and there are a lot of people on my team, and other teams, that want to make a big performance and make a name for themselves out here, so you can expect Wake Forest to be fast and up-paced out there."
On the NCAA Tournament experience for the younger players
"This morning we come in from the walk through on the bus, and Chris [Paul] has a video camera. I said what are you bringing a video camera for and he said I'm going to the tournament. I said well it's not a vacation out there buddy. You just try to get them in the mindset that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and some teams don't get to go back."
Wake Forest University Coach Skip Prosser
On NCAA Tournament
"We're excited to be here and happy to be back in Raleigh to play against a very good VCU team. We have a tremendous respect for VCU in and of themselves and for that conference. We are not gonna dwell on what happened last week or the week prior. It is all about what happens tomorrow at 2:50."
On three straight loses
"Obviously when you loss three straight games your obviously not playing as well as when you won 6 straight. The tournament is a whole different thing. I think our guys will be confident they have to be. We are always playing hard. We play in a pretty tuff league if you document winning streaks I don't think anyone had a long winning streak in our conference this year.
On the Wake Forest Men's Basketball team
"This group of guys is as good a group of kids I have ever coached. They're really good people. They like being together and I don't think any of us wanna rack the balls at this time of year.
