Deacons Travel to Millington, Tenn., for Easton USA Challenge
The Demon Deacons will play four games in four days at the Easton USA Challenge in Millington, Tenn. Wake Forest will square off against UT-Martin, Missouri, Memphis and Indiana State during the event which will be held at the former home of USA Baseball.
Wake Forest Getting Quality Starts in March...
In six of the last seven games, Demon Deacon starting pitchers have turned in quality starts (6+ IP, 4 ER or less). Justin Keadle and Kyle Young each posted two while Brian Bach and Tim Morley each contributed one. The quartet has combined for a 4-2 record, 2.36 ERA with 36 strikeouts and eight walks since March 1.
Balanced Attack...
The Deacons have been getting run production from everyone in the batting order. Wake Forest has six batters with 10 or more RBI, but one has more than 13. Sophomore Casey Sterk leads the team in that category and has batted ninth in every game so far this season.
On Deck...
Wake Forest will play at home and home series next Tuesday and Wednesday with future ACC rival Virginia Tech, before opening the 2004 ACC schedule at Hooks Stadium against Georgia Tech.
