Wake Forest senior Nikeya Green will represent the Demon Deacons at this weekend's NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships held in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The NCAA announced on Monday the student-athletes who were accepted to compete at the 2004 Championships and 270 men and 270 women from schools all around the nation have been invited to participate March 12-13 at the Randal Tyson Indoor Track.

Green will be one of 16 athletes competing in the 800m event and one of just two from the ACC. Last weekend at the Alex Wilson Invitational hosted by Notre Dame, the senior from Woodbridge, Va. turned in a first-place finish in the 800m with a personal best and automatic qualifying time of 2:05.31. This mark is the fastest in the ACC and fourth-fastest in the country this season.

Green was one of three Deacons to compete at last year's 2003 NCAA Indoor Championships where she also qualified for the 800m. Unfortunately for Green and the Deacs, she was unable to advance past the preliminary round after suffering a fall.
