Day One of NCAA Track Championships Washed Out

AUSTIN, TX.-- Steady rain and severe thunderstorms on Wednesday in Austin rained out nearly all of the NCAA Track and Field Championship events scheduled for day one. A revised schedule was drawn up late Wednesday evening and all postponed events were rescheduled for Thursday.

Wake Forest's Cassy Richards will compete in the long jump finals at 6:30 p.m. CT on Thursday. Nikeya Green will run in the 800m preliminaries shortly after at 6:45 p.m. while Anna Sherman looks to advance out of the 1500m preliminaries at 7:55 p.m. The final event of the day is the 10,000m finals where Anne Bersagel hopes to earn All-America honors for the second consecutive season.
