Deacons In Fifth Place At Women's Golf Cougar Classic

The Wake Forest women's golf team is in fifth place heading into second round action on Tuesday. The Deacons are eight off the lead, held by Tennessee. Seniors Ashley Hoagland and Christine Hallstrom paced the Deacons with two round totals of 145 and 146 respectively on the 6,031 yard, par 72 course at the Yeamans Hall Course in Hanahan, S.C.
The field of 16 teams includes ACC rivals Virginia (3rd), North Carolina (7th), N.C. State (10th), Maryland (12th), and Florida State (15th).
Wake Forest was five over on the day with team totals of 296 and 293. Tennesse (289, 292), Louisiana State (288, 295), Virginia (294, 293), and Furman (290, 298) complete the top-five.
Mandy Goins shot two over for the day, as did Maggie Simons. Julie McKenna was six over on Monday. They stand in t19th, t26th and t51st respectively.
The Deacons finish at the College of Charleston hosted Cougar Classic on Tuesday. Results for all participants and teams can be found at golfstat.com
