Wake Forest, ranked 11th nationally and fresh off a team and individual victory last week in Richmond, travels to Jonesborough (TN) Saturday and Sunday for the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate.

The Demon Deacons and 14 other teams will play 36 holes Saturday, followed by 18 holes Sunday at The Ridges golf course. Five ACC teams and five Southeastern Conference teams will compete along with five other talented teams. Of the 15-team field, 11 teams are currently ranked in the nation's Top 50, with six teams ranked in the Top 30. Individually, eight players are ranked in the Top 50, including Top 10-ranked players such as Wake Forest's Webb Simpson and East Tennessee State's Rhys Davies. Oklahoma's Anthony Kim, Golfweek's preseason No. 1 player, will also be competing.

Last year Wake Forest finished fifth in the event and Webb Simpson, playing in his first collegiate event, tied for third individually. The Demon Deacons won the tournament in 2002.

The Demon Deacons are coming off a tournament title at the Mattaponi Springs Shootout last week in Richmond. Senior Kyle Reifers won individual medalist honors.

Simpson and Reifers will represent Wake Forest this weekend along with senior Doug Manchester, junior Sean Moore and freshman Marc Gladson.
