GREENVILLE, NC - Wake Forest sophomore Chad Wilcox shot the two lowest rounds of his college career and is in seventh place after two rounds of the ECU Pirate Invitational.

The Demon Deacons are not competing in the team race, but Wilcox, junior Matt McLean and senior Barr Blanton are all participating as individuals. The final round of the 54-hole event at the par 72 Bradford Creek Golf Club is scheduled for Tuesday.

Wilcox shot a 71 in the morning round, followed by an even par 72 in the afternoon and is 1-under par heading into the final round. Wilcox is five strokes out of the lead held by Boston College's Robert Reed, who is 6-under par.

Blanton is holding his own as well. Out of 84 golfers, the Deacon senior is in 14th place at 2-over par after shooting 74-72 today. Blanton's 72 in the afternoon round was a career-low.

McLean, seeing his first tournament action in two years, is 5-over and tied for 26th place. He shot a 76-73 today.

Host East Carolina holds a three-stroke lead over High Point in the team race.

Wake Forest's next team competition is October 23-25 at the Isleworth Invitational in Orlando, FL.
