
Jessica Furlong Named ACC Volleyball Player of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. - - Wake Forest's Jessica Furlong was named this week's Atlantic Coast Conference Volleyball Player of the Week, having led the Demon Deacons to wins over Clemson and Georgia Tech this past weekend. She is the first Demon Deacon to earn the honor since 2003.
Furlong, a native of St. Augustine, Fla., helped Wake Forest to a 3-1 victory over Clemson on Friday night. Recording the second double-double of her career, the outside hitter tallied 22 kills and a team-high 24 digs, while hitting .529 in the match.
The next evening, Furlong helped lead Wake Forest to a 3-1 victory over Georgia Tech. The win increased the Deacs ACC winning streak to five, the team's longest winning streak since 2001. Against the Yellow Jackets, Furlong registered her second double-double of the weekend with 17 kills and 14 digs, both team bests on the night.
For the week, Furlong averaged 4.88 kills per game and 4.75 digs per game, while hitting .370.
