Tallahassee, Fla. - The Wake Forest men's cross country team finished fourth out of 12 teams at the ACC Championship on Monday morning. The Deacons finished with 136 points in the 8000 meter race.

Senior Sean Stevens finished 11th overall and ran a time of 24:17.4 to lead the Deacons. Freshman Jeremy Fisico placed 16th with a time of 24:27.7. Senior Brad Wharton finished in 28th with a time of 24:46.7. Freshman Mark Russell placed 39th with a time of 25:04.3. Senior Shane Ahlers rounded out the top-five Deacon runners with a time of 25:11.9, good for 44th place.

Sophomore John Compton completed the race with a time of 25:27.7 and came in 51st. Junior Chris Catton placed 61st overall with a time of 25:38.1. Senior Joel Conn placed 69th with a time of 25:47.7.

Virginia claimed the team title with 30 points, placing its five scoring runners in the top eight spots. Florida State placed second with 38 points, and NC State finished third with 103 points. The Deacons finished fourth with 136 points. Duke rounded out the top-five with 142 points.
