Paul Moves Into Consolation Bracket Final

Tulsa, Okla. - Todd Paul steamrolled through two nationally-ranked opponents Saturday to earn a place in the consolation bracket final at the Polo Ralph Lauren ITA All-American Championships.
In the morning's quarterfinal, Paul, the 33rd-ranked player in the nation, defeated 86th-ranked Strahinja Bobusic of Georgia, 6-1, 7-6 (5). In the afternoon's semifinal, he defeated 35th-ranked Marek Velicka of Oklahoma, 6-2, 6-1.
Paul has won five matches in three days, including a run of eight straight sets.
The junior from Stamford, Conn., will face 23rd-ranked Alex Slovic of Washington on Sunday. Slovic has not dropped a set in the consolation bracket.
The winner of Sunday's consolation championship automatically earns a berth in the National Indoors Tournament Nov. 3-6 at Ohio State University. The nation's top 32 players will participate in that event.
