
Women's Cross Country Places Fourth at Regionals

Greenville, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's cross country team placed fourth at the NCAA Southeast Regional Cross Country Championship on Saturday. The Deacons finished with 151 points in the 6,000 meter run.
Duke claimed the team title with 33 points. NC State placed second with 78 points and Virginia finished third with 149 points. Following Wake Forest and rounding out the top-five was William and Mary with 180 points.
Senior All-American Annie Bersagel placed fourth individually to lead all Deacons. Bersagel ran a time of 20:08.9. Junior Michelle Sikes placed 20th overall running a time of 21:01.4.
Freshman Mandy McBean placed 40th overall with a time of 21:32.5. Senior Erin Franklin placed one spot behind McBean with a time of 21:33.0. Fellow senior Hanna Bremler placed 46th, running a time of 21:36.9. Senior Jill Miller placed 55th with a time of 21:55.0.
Wake Forest will next run in the NCAA Championships on Monday, Nov. 21, in Terre Haute, Ind.
