Trent Strickland Named ACC Player Of The Week

Wake Forest senior Trent Strickland was named the first ACC Player of the Week for 2005-06 after leading the Demon Deacons to a 2-0 start.
Strickland recorded the first two double-doubles of his career and was named Most Valuable Player of the 2k Sports Classic Winston-Salem Regional last week, leading the Deacons to wins over Mississippi Valley State and George Mason.
In the season opener against MVSU, Strickland scored 16 points, pulled down a career-high 12 rebounds, went 3-of-3 from three-point range and dished out three assists. The next night against George Mason, Strickland had 18 points, 11 boards and made his only three-point attempt.
In two games combined, Strickland had 34 points, 23 rebounds, four assists, made 12-of-16 field goals and 4-of-4 three-pointers.
