Columbus, Ohio - Wake Forest junior men's tennis player Todd Paul opens play at the National Indoors Tournament at Ohio State University on Thursday. Almost all of the nation's top singles players are participating in the 32-player field.
Paul owns a 10-3 singles record this fall and is ranked 33rd nationally. Five of those wins have come against nationally-ranked opponents. He qualified for the event courtesy of his consolation bracket championship at the ITA All-American event in Tulsa earlier this fall. Paul faces Peter Oredsson of SMU in the first round. Oredsson (4-1) is unranked but has already notched three victories against nationally-ranked foes this fall.
The winner of the Paul-Oredsson match faces the winner of Andreas Siljestrom of Middle Tennessee State and fourth-seeded Ben Kohlloeffel of UCLA.
Action begins Thursday in Columbus and lasts through Sunday.
