
Coetzee Falls In Second Round Of NCAA Singles Championship

ATHENS, Ga. - Senior Karin Coetzee closed out her career as a Demon Deacon Monday afternoon after being eliminated in the second round of the NCAA singles championship and the first round of the doubles.
After defeating Cynthya Goulet of Illinois in the first round, Coetzee advanced to face Anne Yelsey of Stanford and fell, 6-3, 6-1. Cotezee closes her season with a record of 25-11 and a career record of 97-49, giving her the ninth highest winning percentage in the program's history.
In doubles, Coetzee paired up with redshirt freshman Alex Hirsch and fell to Ana Cetnik and Story Tweedie-Yates, 6-1, 6-2. Together, Coetzee and Hirsch compiled a 13-4 overall record and remained nationally ranked throughout the season.
The Wake Forest women's tennis team closed the 2005 season with a second-round NCAA finish.
