Demon Deacon Women's Golf Update

Winston-Salem, N.C. - Wake Forest graduate Ashley Hoagland begins her professional golfing career on Friday as she competes in the Laconia Savings Bank FUTURES Golf Classic in Concord, N.H.
Hoagland, a first-team All-American performer for the Deacons, will tee off at 1:37 pm at the par 72 Beaver Meadow Golf Course. The 54-hole event begins Friday and ends on Sunday.
Hoagland will look to add to the long list of successful professional golfers that competed on the collegiate level at Wake Forest. Results, pairings, and daily wrap-ups can be found at www.futurestour.com.
Four other women's golfers are in action as well this week competing in the Women's Trans Amateur Championship which is being contested at Mid Pines Golf Club in Southern Pines, N.C.
Rising juniors Mandy Goins and Maggie Simons and incoming freshman Nannette Hill all qualified for the Championship Flight by posting 36-hole scores among the low 64 golfers. Goins shot rounds of 74 and 75 for a 149 total. Hill shot a two-round total of 150 (77-73), and Simons shot rounds of 77 and 75 for a total of 152.
Match play began on Thursday and concludes with a 36-hole final on Sunday.
Sophomore transfer Jordan Craig just missed qualifying for the championship with a two-round total of 161; however, Craig will compete in the first flight match play bracket. Match play for the 16-person bracket began on Thursday as well and ends with an 18-hole final on Saturday morning.
