Nicole Schappert Named ACC Performer Of The Week

Wake Forest freshman Nicole Schappert was named the ACC Performer of the Week after placing first at the WFU Relays.

Winston-Salem, N.C. - Wake Forest freshman Nicole Schappert was named the ACC Performer of the Week in women's cross country on Monday. The Delray Beach native placed first individually at the Wake Forest Relays over the weekend to lead the Deacons to the team title.

Schappert ran a total time of 17:12 in the 5k race to win individually. Schappert also combined with fellow freshman Allison Kieffer to finish third in the paired results. Overall, the Demon Deacons took the top-three pairings to win the race.

Schappert and the Deacs will next compete at the New Collegiate Cross Country Invitational in Clemmons, N.C., on September 16.
