
Preseason ITA Rankings Revealed

Winston-Salem, N.C. - The preseason edition of the women's Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings have been released for the 2005-06 campaign. Junior Ashlee Davis was pegged as the No. 44 singles player, while redshirt sophomore Alex Hirsch was projected as No. 92.
Davis, who played the majority of last season at the No. 2 singles spot, was one of two NCAA individual qualifiers for the Demon Deacons. She finished the year with an 18-16 singles record and a No. 92 ranking. Hirsch, who played anywhere from No. 2 to No. 6 singles, closed the year with a 13-7 overall record.
In doubles, Davis and Hirsch were pegged at No. 42. They did not play together during the 2004-05 season.
The Demon Deacons will kickoff their season Friday, Nov. 16 at the St. Mary's Invitational.
