Coach Peterson on:
On the Demon Deacons' effort:
"I was really proud of our effort when we got down and didn't give up. That's been the trademark of the team this year. There is no give up on this team and I thought we battled really well all the way through. For us to out-rebound Virginia Tech is pretty significant. I am happy for our players."
On adjustments made in the second half:
"I think we executed a little better. We talked at halftime about how physical they were with us and they were up into us pretty good and we weren't cutting as hard as we needed to and we weren't screening as well as we needed to. They are very athletic and they get after you pretty good. I just think we executed a little better."
On the feeling of winning:
"I am happy we won, I am just happy that Wake Forest University is in a must-win-game. They haven't played many of those around here. We played a must win game and we won it. That's pretty good stuff. Virginia Tech is really good. We are really happy to beat them."
Virginia Tech Head Coach Beth Dunkenberger
On the game:
"I think we fell out of it a little in the second half. When our shots didn't fall, we got frustrated"
On the first half:
"I think we did an excellent job in the first half - we played with a lot of energy and I liked how aggressive we were, in the second half they got some movement out of their half court sets and we weren't ready to guard the screens or their shooters. We got to be ready."
On Cotelia Bond-Young:
"Obviously she is a great scorer, but tonight they had several great scorers, so it is just a matter of trying to step up."
