Hirsch Closes Out Play At Riviera/ITA All-American Qualifier

Los Angeles, Calif. - Wake Forest tennis player Alex Hirsch closed out play in the consolation finals of the Riviera/ITA All American Qualifier with a loss to Sarah Fansler of USC, 6-4, 6-4, Friday afternoon.
Hirsch advanced to the finals of the consolation rounds with victories over players from Washington State and Arizona State. Hirsch is currently ranked No. 32 by the ITA.
Senior Ashlee Davis also participated in the singles tournament and advanced to the quarterfinals with victories over players from Purdue and Arkansas.
In doubles action earlier in the week, sophomores Christian Tara and Ana Jerman fell in the first round of the consolation draw to a team from Sacramento State.
The Demon Deacons return to the east coast and next play in the ITA Southeast Regional hosted by North Carolina. The three day tournament begins on Oct.12.
