Wake Forest vs. High Point
It's big versus little as the tallest team in the nation squares off against the shortest team in the nation. Wake Forest (the tallest) and High Point (the shortest) will renew their rivalry on Friday at 5 p.m. in Joel Coliseum. The meeting is the first between the two Triad teams in four years and the 18th all-time. The Demon Deacons are 1-2 coming off a loss to Western Carolina, while the Panthers are 0-1 after dropping their season opener at NC State.

Big vs. Little
Wake Forest holds the distinction as the tallest team in the country with an average height of 6-1.25. High Point, in contrast, is the shortest squad with an average height of 5-8. While the Demon Deacons have seven players who are 6-2 or taller, the Panthers have just two players 6-0 or taller. The ACC is the tallest conference in Division I, and the Big South is the fourth-shortest. (For more on Wake's height advantage, see page 4.)

Last Time Out
The Demon Deacons are coming off a 74-71 home-opening loss to Western Carolina on Tuesday. Wake Forest took a 22-6 lead to begin the game, but WCU out-scored the Deacs 24-6 over the remainder of the first period to take a 30-28 lead into halftime. After trailing by as many as eight, Wake was able to tie the game at 52-52, but Western pulled away late and held on for the victory.

Sophomore Yolanda Lavender led the Deacs with a career-high 24 points, 11 of which came in the final three minutes of the game. Freshman Mekia Valentine set a new school record with nine blocks, falling two short of the ACC record. Valentine also added a season-best 12 points. Sophomore Corinne Groves posted her second double-double of the season with 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Next Up...
Wake Forest will host a pair of games next week. The Deacons will play Wofford on Wednesday, Nov. 22, at 7 p.m. and then Florida A&M two days later at 7 p.m. Wake Forest is at home for six straight and nine of 10 contests during the months of November and December. The Demon Deacons' only road game until the New Year is a Dec. 14 matchup at Wright State.
