Wake Forest vs. James Madison
Two of the hottest teams around meet Thursday when Wake Forest hosts James Madison at Joel Coliseum. The Demon Deacons are 8-2 and riding a seven-game winning streak. The Dukes are 7-1 having won five straight contests. Wake is coming off a 65-57 home win over Winthrop on Sunday, while JMU is fresh off a 77-48 win over Savannah State on Monday. Wake Forest is one game away from the end of a stretch that saw it play nine of 10 games in the friendly confines of Joel Coliseum.
Something's Gotta Give
Winning streaks are on the line when Wake Forest and James Madison meet Thursday evening at Joel Coliseum. The Demon Deacons (8-2) are riding a seven-game winning streak, while the Dukes (7-1) bring a five-game streak into the contest. JMU is out-scoring its opponents by almost 10 points per game and out-rebounding them by over 11. Wake, on the other hand, is out-scoring opponents by almost five points a game and out-rebounding them by over eight. The Dukes have out-rebounded seven of its eight opponents, while the Deacons have won the rebounding battle in nine of 10 games.

The Demon Deacons are coming off a 65-57 home win over Winthrop on Sunday. Wake Forest was able to get to the free throw line 39 times, compared to just eight times for the Eagles. The Deacs, who shot 31 second-half free throws, made 23 of their attempts at the charity stripe. Wake had its third-lowest turnover total of the year with 14. The Deacons scored 20 of their points off Winthrop turnovers, while the Eagles scored just eight off Wake miscues. Wake used a 17-5 first-half run to overcome a 20-12 deficit. The Deacs took a 36-33 lead into halftime and never let the Eagles closer than four in the second half.

Wake Forest will wrap up the 2006 calender year at home against Richmond on Dec. 30 at 3 p.m. The Demon Deacons will ring in the new year by beginning ACC play Jan. 2 at Virginia Tech. Wake will then make its first television appearance of the season, hosting Clemson on Jan. 5 on FSN South.
