Wake Forest Takes Third Place At Lexus Naples Intercollegiate

NAPLES, FL - Senior Kyle Reifers took second place and junior Sean Moore finished in fourth place to lead Wake Forest to a third-place finish in the 12-team Lexus Naples Intercollegiate here Tuesday.
The 15th-ranked Demon Deacons shot a four-under par 284 as a team in the final round of the 54-hole event. Baylor took first place, three strokes in front of Florida State and five strokes ahead of Wake Forest at the par 72 Hammock Bay Golf Club.
Reifers shot a final-round 69 today and finished second in the individual race. Reifers finished with a 54-hole total of 207, 9-under par. Moore shot a 70 today to finish 4-under for the tournament and in third place. Sophomore Webb Simpson also finished under par for the tournament (-2) and tied for 13th place.
Baylor's Ryan Baca finished first individually after shooting a final-round 67 today. He finished the tournament 11-under par for the tournament, two strokes in front of Reifers.
Other Wake Forest scorers were freshman Marc Gladson, who with a 3-over 219, and sophomore Chad Wilcox, who shot a 237.
Wake's third-place finish was its second-best of the 2005-06 season. The Deacons won the Mattaponi Springs Shootout in the fall.
Wake Forest returns to action March 10-12 in Las Vegas (NV) at the Southern Highlands Intercollegiate.
