Tallahassee, FL - On Senior Day in Tallahassee, Fla., the 22nd-ranked Florida State men's tennis team rolled past 26th-ranked Wake Forest, 7-0, on Sunday, in the regular season finale for both teams.

Wake Forest and Florida State had split the last four meetings and three of those contests were decided by 4-3 scores. But little went right for the Deacons against the Seminoles this time.

Of the six singles and three doubles matches, Wake Forest recorded just one victory. It came at number two doubles where Brett Ross and Charles Sartor defeated Sam Chang and Jonathas Sucupira, 8-7, but only after the doubles point had already been clinched by the `Noles.

In singles, Florida State posted five straight set victories including at number one where 13th-ranked Todd Paul was upended by No. 51 Ytai Abougzir, 6-3, 6-2. The Seminoles recorded another upset at number two as Sucupira defeated 94th-ranked Andrew Hamar, 6-2, 6-4. Sam Chang got past Wake Forest's Cory Parr at number three, 6-2, 7-6.

At number four, Ross forced a third set, but lost the super breaker and the match to Maciek Sykut, 7-5, 3-6, 1-0. At number five, FSU senior Chris Westerhof went out in style with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Mariusz Adamski. Chris Cloer eased past Liron Strauss at number six, 6-0, 6-1.

For the Deacons (14-9, 6-5 ACC), it was their first 7-0 defeat since 2000. The Seminoles (15-10, 8-3 ACC) enter the postseason having won seven of their last nine matches. Wake Forest has dropped three of its last four.

The ACC office will announce the tournament seeds on Monday morning. The conference tournament begins on Thursday at the Cary (N.C.) Tennis Center and the top four teams earn a first round bye.
