Track and Field Competes in Limited Events at Duke Twilight

Durham, N.C. - The Wake Forest track and field teams competed at the Asics Duke Twilight meet on Sunday. While several of the events were rained out, the teams did compete in some events.
Freshman Allie Kieffer captured the 1500 meter run with a season best time of 4:36.36. Kieffer won the event by a five second margin. Sophomore Melissa Council won the 400 meter dash with a time of 55.85 seconds.
Nicole Schappert won the 800 meter dash as well running a time of 2:13.31. Schappert won by almost two full seconds. In the 400 meter hurdles, Michelle Duffey captured the event with a time of 1:02.63, winning the event by an amazing seven seconds. In the triple jump, Molly Kennedy won with a jump of 10.79 meters.
Senior Brad Wharton also competed over the weekend at the Oregon Twilight. Wharton won the 1500 meter run with a personal best and regional qualifying mark of 3:45.08.
