Wake Forest assistant director of track and field Scott Hall was one of four to earn the honor of top Division I assistants for the 2006 outdoor season by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Hall helped lead the Wake Forest sprinters to an outstanding spring season. The 4x400-meter relay team shaved 10 seconds off the school record, and it finished first in the ACC Championships and 11th in the NCAA Championships. In addition, Wake's Michael Bingham took first place in the ACC 200-meters.
Joining Hall on the list of men's winners were Paul Ereng (UTEP), Mario Santegna (Texas) and Greg Jack (Virginia Tech).
The top women's assistants are Barry Shumpert of Miami (jumps/combined events), Vince Anderson of Texas A&M (sprints), Arizona State's David Dumble (throws) and Arizona State's Louis Quintana (distances).
