Brent LaRue Places Fourth At USA Junior Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. - Wake Forest freshman Brent LaRue closed the 2006 Finish Line USA Junior Track and Field Championships with a fourth place finish in the decathlon, Thursday evening at the IU Michael A. Carroll Track & Soccer Stadium.
LaRue finished the competition with 7,057 points, just nine points off his personal best.
The Kernersville, N.C. native had a strong outing in the first five events, winning the 100 meter dash and the 400 meters. In the final events, LaRue, placed second in the 110 meter hurdles and fourth in the pole vault.
Also competing in the championship meet, freshman Carly Mauch placed 13th in the javelin with a throw of 36.60 meters. Phillip Warsaw ran the 400 meters hurdles in a time of 54:22 and placed 11th.
