Senior Kyle Reifers is one of the most successful and consistent players in recent Wake Forest history. This week, Reifers and his teammates are competing for the NCAA Championship in Sunriver, Oregon. Reifers is keeping a blog for WakeForestSports.com
Today was another mucky day. Our day began just like the last couple of days. I woke up at 5 and met the team for breakfast. After another wonderful breakfast we were off to the links.
As we arrived it started raining. It did not stop until about an hour AFTER we played. It was another tough day. It rained literally the whole time so...it was tough, long and patience was the key.
I am proud of our team. They really hung in there. You just never know in team golf. There can be a 10-shot swing in a matter of a few holes. I played solid, just had a lot of good putts that didn't drop.
Our team is in perfect position to make a run at another team title. It is going to be fun and this is why we put in the hard days of practice and working out. All we can ask for is to be within striking distance or in the lead with five or six holes to go.
After our rounds we headed back to the room and relaxed for a bit. Around 6 we hopped in our sweet van and peeled out to the course. After a little practice we went in and had some dinner (the Miami Heat looked impressive by the way).
After a comical stop at the local gas station we came back and had a little team meeting. To conclude our night, Webb did a few impersonations of an 80-year old man playing golf, and he almost killed Coach (Haas). It's all fun and games until someone almost gets their eye poked out...haha Larry.
Well, we are all in a good frame of mind and are really looking forward to tomorrow. Thanks for your support!!
Prediction- Rasheed Wallace broke something after they lost to the Heat
