Women's Tennis Remains Undefeated in Singles

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's tennis team remained undefeated in singles action and won flight A doubles and the back draw of doubles flight B on the second day of action at the Deacon Classic, Saturday.
Junior Alex Hirsch advanced to the finals of the flight A singles with a victory over Ana Spivakovsky of Charlotte. In Sunday's finals, Hirsch will face Yevgeniya Stupak of ETSU.
Playing in the flight B singles final tomorrow, it will be the battle of Wake Forest sophomores Ana Jerman and Christian Tara, who both advanced with victories over players from Indiana. In the third singles flight, it be another battle of two Wake Forest players as freshman Sasha Kulikova and sophomore Sierra Poske face off. Kulikova defeated Alba Berdala of Indiana, 6-2, 6-2, while Poske defeated Ashley Lipton, 6-1, 6-0.
Rounding out the singles action, junior Jenna Loeb defeated Whitney Trotter, 6-2, 6-1, to advance to the finals of flight D. She will face Yuilana Svivtun of Kansas on Sunday.
In doubles, Hirsch and Poske paired up and won flight A, with an 8-5 victory over Williams/Fischer of Indiana. Tara and Kulikova played in flight B and won the back draw with an 8-2 victory over Keesey/Finucane of Ohio State.
Wake Forest will conclude its play at the Deacon Classic on Sunday.
