Women's Golf Competes at Tar Heel Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The No. 18 Wake Forest women's golf team will not have to travel far for its third fall tournament as it competes at the Lady Tar Heel in Chapel Hill, N.C. October 5-7 at UNC's par 72, 6,285-yard Finley Golf Course.
The 18-team field includes 12 teams which are ranked in the top 30 in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin rankings. In addition to Wake Forest, the field includes No. 2 Duke, No. 7 Auburn, No. 8 Oklahoma State, No. 11 Georgia, No. 12 Tennessee, No. 14 Texas, No. 16 Vanderbilt, No. 20 East Carolina, No. 28 Florida State and No. 29 South Carolina. Kentucky, NC State, Texas A&M, College of Charleston, Tulsa and Virginia round out the field.
The Demon Deacon team of five will include senior Laura Crawford, juniors Nannette Hill and Jean Chua, who is making her first appearance in the lineup this fall and freshmen Natalie Sheary and Allie Bodemann.
Sheary shined last week at the NCAA Fall Preview. Shooting a career low 3-under 70 for the first round, the freshman tied for 13th with a 3-under 216.
Tee times begin at 9 a.m. Friday and Saturday with teams starting off both the #1 and #10 tees. There will be a shotgun start at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday. Results can be followed live at golfstat.com. Wake Forest will tee-off at 9 a.m. on the first hole for Friday's first round.
