Wake Forest Set to Host No. 13 Duke

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest is set to begin a five-match homestand with No. 13-ranked Duke on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
The Demon Deacons will be at home through Saturday, Oct. 20. Following its match with Duke, Wake Forest will host Clemson and Georgia Tech this weekend. The next weekend the Deacons will entertain Virginia and Virginia Tech.
Wake comes into its match against ACC leader Duke with a record of 7-9 overall and 4-3 in the ACC. The Deacs are coming off a sweep of NC State on Saturday, marking Wake Forest's 18th straight defeat of the Wolfpack and its ninth straight by sweep.
Six of the Deacons' seven wins this season have come by sweep, including each of the past five. All four of Wake's conference wins have been sweeps. At 4-3 in league play, the Deacs are currently fifth in the ACC standings.
Wake Forest is 4-1 at home this season with its only loss coming to nationally-ranked Dayton on Sept. 7.
Duke comes in at 12-3 overall and 7-0 in the ACC. The Blue Devils have won seven straight matches, dating back to their Sept. 18 defeat of the Deacons. Duke is 4-2 on the road this season.
Tuesday's match will be the second meeting between Wake Forest and Duke this season. The Blue Devils swept the Deacons on Sept. 18 in Durham.
Duke leads the all-time series with Wake Forest 38-9. The Blue Devils have won each of the past eight meetings, dating back to the 2003 campaign. The all-time series dates back to 1974.
Last season, Duke swept both matches with Wake. The Blue Devils came away with a three-game victory on Oct. 10 in Winston-Salem and then followed with another sweep on Nov. 7 in Durham.
The Deacons will return to action against Clemson on Friday, Oct. 12, at 7 p.m. The Tigers are off to a hot start in conference play with a 6-0 mark. Wake Forest will also host Georgia Tech on Saturday, Oct. 13, at 6 p.m.
