Deacons Show Well on Second Day of Penn Relays

The Wake Forest track and field team was in Philadelphia for day two of the 113th Penn Relays on Friday. The day got off to a wet start, but the competition resumed around noon after its second weather delay.
For the first time this season, a 4x200-meter relay team consisting of Kevin Marion, Eric Seely, Tyler Dodds and Jonathan Reid was in competition. The team placed seventh overall in the event in a time of 1:24.39.
Sophomore Phillip Warsaw followed up his strong showing at the ACC Championships in the 400-meter hurdles on Friday by placing 37th in the same event in a time of 55.47. The Elizabethtown, Ky., native ran a regionally-qualifying time of 52.14 a week ago, also a new personal best.
The distance medley relay time of Keaton Morgan, Chris Catton, Nicholas Lepley and Matthew Owen placed 13th in a time of 10:07.41 while the 4x400-meter relay team placed 10th in 3:11.16.
The final day of the annual meet will begin on Saturday at 7 a.m.
