Goins Named to All-ACC Women's Golf Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Wake Forest senior Mandy Goins was named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference women's golf team, the conference announced today. Goins earned the accolade twice in as many years and is the lone Demon Deacon on the 12-player team.
Goins, a Frankfort, Ky. native, has been ranked in the Top 25 of the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings for the majority of the season and currently checks in at No. 24. Goins has played in all of Wake Forest's events this year and has one top-five finish, four top-10 finishes and seven top-20 finishes.
ACC champion Duke led all teams with five players on the team and swept the 2007 ACC individual awards with top-ranked Amanda Blumenherst taking Player of the Year, Alison Whitaker earning Freshman of the Year and Dan Brooks earning Coach of the Year for the second straight season.
North Carolina and Virginia were each represented by two players, while Florida State and Maryland along with the Deacs added one member to complete this season's conference team.
