Wake Forest Volleyball Opens Preseason Practice

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest volleyball team opened preseason practice on Monday afternoon in Reynolds Gymnasium in preparation for the upcoming 2007 season.

Third-year head coach Heather Kahl Holmes welcomed into camp 15 players, 11 of which are returning from last year's squad that went 14-17 overall and 10-12 in the ACC.

The Deacs will have two-a-day workouts over the next 10 days. Wake's preseason will culminate with the Black & Gold Scrimmage on Aug. 28 at 5 p.m.

Wake Forest will open the regular season Aug. 31 - Sept. 1 at the Miami (Ohio) Tournament. The Deacons will take on Pittsburgh on Friday evening before facing Miami (Ohio) and Michigan on Saturday.

The Deacs will play their home opener on Friday, Sept. 7, against the University of Dayton at 7 p.m. in the Black & Gold Challenge.
