
Webb Simpson Wins SGA Monthly Award

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest golfer Webb Simpson captured the Southern Golf Association (SGA) award for the month of July. The national award is selected by a panel of 15 golf officials, coaches and reporters.
Simpson, a rising senior, won the Southern Amateur finishing with a 16-under-par 272 to claim a one-stroke victory. He also won the Dogwood Invitational in Atlanta finishing four strokes ahead of Danny Lee, the New Zealand Amateur champion.
Simpson set a record by winning his fourth amateur of the month award from the SGA.
