ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The No. 12 Wake Forest women's golf team shot their best round of 4-over 296 to finish 13th at the 2007 Margaret Moses Branch NCAA Fall Preview at the UNM Championship Golf Course (6,069 yards, par 73). The Demon Deacons totaled a 54-hole score of 18-over 894 and were led by Wake's two rookies Natalie Sheary and Allie Bodemann on the final day of action.

Duke captured the tournament with a 16-under 860 after shooting a 5-under-par on the day. Individual champion Dewi Claire Schreefel helped Southern Cal close the gap on Duke as the Trojans led scoring for the second straight day with an 8-under-par, but finished one-stroke behind the Blue Devils at 15-under 861 for second place.

UCLA shot a 7-under-par to finish third with a 6-under 870.

Freshmen Natalie Sheary and Allie Bodemann led Wake on the final day as both fired off 1-under 72s. Starting at the 10th hole, Sheary played almost flawlessly as she remained even until hole 17 which she bogied to move to 1-over, but moved back to even two holes later. Sheary birdied the eighth hole and held the score for the remaining hole to tie for 13th place.

Tying for 45th, Bodemann, who started at the 11th hole, held an even score after an up-and-down front nine and was 3-under-par by hole four. Bodemann bogied two holes en route to her 18-hole career low.

Senior Laura Crawford tied for 35th with a 5-over 224 after a 3-over par on the final round. Junior Nannette Hill also shot a 3-over for a 54-hole score of 12-over 231 to tie for 64th.

Sophomore Dolores White rounded out the team finishing in a tie for 74th with a three-day score of 14-over 233.

Wake Forest is back in action at the 2007 Lady Tar Heel in Chapel Hill from Oct. 5-7.
