| Preview: | Wake Forest will play its final non-conference game of the season on Tuesday evening against Brigham Young. The game, set to tip-off at 7 p.m., will be broadcast on ACC Select. The Deacons enter the contest at 10-3 overall and riding a five-game winning streak. Wake also takes a 13-game home winning streak into the matchup with BYU. Wake Forest is coming off a 70-58 defeat of Presbyterian last Wednesday in Winston-Salem. James Johnson led the Deacs with 18 points, while Jeff Teague and L.D. Williams chipped in 14 points apiece. Ishmael Smith dished out 11 assists and did not have a single turnover. The Cougars come to town with a record of 11-3. BYU has been ranked as high as 20th in the nation. The Cougars are currently out of the top 25 but are receiving votes in each of the latest polls. Brigham Young has won four of its past five games, dating back to Dec. 12. The Cougars are coming off a 91-62 rout of Loyola Maramount last Thursday in Provo, Utah. Lee Cummard led the team with 18 points, while Jonathan Tavernari scored 17 off the bench. Center Trent Plaisted is BYU's leading scorer and rebounder with 16.6 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. Wake Forest and BYU have met just three times previously with the Deacons holding a 2-1 advantage in the all-time series. The schools last met during the 1969-70 campaign when Wake came out on top, 108-93, at the Quaker City Tournament in Philadelphia. |
| Next Up: | Wake Forest returns to conference play on Saturday at Boston College. The game will be broadcast by Fox Sports and shown regionally. The Deacs will then travel to Maryland on Jan. 15 before returning home to host Florida State on Jan. 20. |
