Wake Forest Downs Presbyterian 83-31

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's basketball team held Presbyterian to just 11 points in the second half to rack up an 83-31 victory on Monday in Winston-Salem.
Wake Forest improves to 8-0 with the win and the Blue Hose now stand at 2-6. Wake Forest's Alex Tchangoue was the game's high scorer with 18 points, followed by Brittany Waters who netted 15 for the Demon Deacons. Kristen Stevens led the Blue Hose in scoring with 11 points. Presbyterian's Brittany Brown was the game leader in rebounds with 10, while Alex Tchangoue was the leading rebounder for Wake Forest with eight.
The game marks Wake Forest's largest margin of victory this season as well as its highest scoring performance.
With the Demon Deacon men's basketball victory over Wright State on Sunday, Wake Forest still remains one of just three schools in the nation that boast undefeated records in both men's and women's basketball. Connecticut and North Carolina also hold the honor.
The Deacons netted 45 points from Presbyterian's 32 turnovers. Alex Tchangoue and Camille Collier each registered four steals in the contest.
Sophomore Brittany Waters had a career-high performance from beyond the arc, hitting 4-for-4. Overall Wake Forest registered a season-high 3-point percentage mark, hitting 8 of 15.
By the first timeout at 14:46, Wake Forest held an 11-6 lead. Kristen Stevens had all of the Blue Hose points, putting up back-to-back three pointers. Stevens went a perfect 3-for-3 in the first half.
At the 10:47 mark Camille Collier hit a jumper that kicked off a WFU 15-0 run, allowing the Deacons to gain a 44-11 lead with just over five minutes to play in the first half. Presbyterian narrowed Wake's lead to 24 points at the halftime break.
By the 16:00 minute mark in the second half Wake was back in front by 30 points, with Alex Tchangoue contributing seven points in less than four minutes. Wake Forest picked up its largest lead in the final minutes, when a jumper from Kem Wilson put the Deacons ahead by 52 points with 2:08 to play.
Next up for Wake Forest is the University of Central Florida Tournament in Orlando, Fla. The Demon Deacons will open up the tournament with UCF on Friday, December 19 and finish up with Mississippi on Sunday, December 21.
