Simpson Makes Cut at Arnold Palmer Invitational

Webb Simpson will be a part of weekend competition at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. The Wake Forest senior made the cut at Bay Hill after birdies on holes 17 and 18 helped Simpson record his second consecutive round of 71 in Orlando.
Simpson is currently tied for 61st place after shooting a 142 (+2) for the first two rounds.
Simpson finished with four birdies on the day and has eight birdies in two days on the par-70, 7,239-yard Bay Hill Club and Lodge.
In 2006, Simpson missed the cut at Bay Hill after shooting 75-72=147 to finish the first two rounds at three over par.
Billy Andrade (+2) was the only former Deacon golfer to make the cut for the third round. Len Mattiace missed the cut by one stroke at 143 (+3) and Bill Haas missed the cut after shooting a two-day total of 149 (+9).
NBC will provide live coverage of the final two rounds of the Arnold Palmer Invitational starting Saturday and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Radio coverage will be available on XM Satellite Radio starting at noon Saturday and Sunday.
Defending champion Vijay Singh leads the event following a nine-under 131 for the first two rounds.
Players will tee-off at approximately 9 a.m. Saturday from hole number one.
