WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest women's tennis athlete Sasha Kulikova picked up All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors for her standout performance in the 2008 season.

Wake Forest's 2007 MVP, Sasha Kulikova, had a breakout season in 2008. Last year, Kulikova played primarily at the Nos. 4 and 6 positions, but after starting in January at No. 2, Kulikova moved to the top of the lineup mid-season to replace Alex Hirsch, who ended her career early with a stress fracture.

The Moscow, Russia native finished the regular season with 15-5 record in dual matches and 7-4 mark in the ACC. Kulikova posted a 3-3 mark at No. 1 and a 12-2 finish at No. 2, defeating four nationally ranked opponents along the way.

At the ACC Tournament Kulikova and Sierra Poske had the only doubles win of the match against NC State, and Kulikova followed with a singles win over Daria Petrovic at No. 1.
