Wake Forest Adds Five Players to Basketball Roster

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Five non-scholarship student-athletes have been added to Wake Forest's 2009-10 roster.
Joining the Demon Deacons are guards Phaethon Bolton (Greenwich, Conn.), Kyle Fowler (Wheaton, Ill.) and Aaron Ingle (Weaverville, N.C.) and forwards Ryan Keenan (Bellaire, Texas) and Denmore McDermott (Baltimore, Md.).
Bolton, a 5-8 point guard, is a native of Greenwich, Conn., and played at Brunswick School. Bolton, whose first name is pronounced "FAY-thon", was an all-conference selection in high school. He helped lead Brunswick to three straight Fairfield Athletic Association titles. Bolton is a senior at Wake Forest, majoring in communication.
Fowler, a 6-2 guard, is a native of Wheaton, Ill., and played at Wheaton North High School. Fowler has already earned one varsity letter at Wake Forest as a member of the Demon Deacons' 2007-08 squad. On the prep level, Fowler lettered in both basketball and volleyball at Wheaton North. Fowler is a senior at Wake Forest, majoring in computer science.
Ingle, a 6-0 guard, is a native of Weaverville, N.C., and played at Christ School. Ingle won three state championships in high school and helped his team to 29 wins as a junior and 34 as a senior. He was teammates at Christ School with Duke's Mason and Miles Plumlee. Ingle is a sophomore at Wake Forest.
Keenan, a 6-4 forward, is a native of Bellaire, Texas, and played at Westbury Christian School. Keenan earned all-district honors as a senior after leading WCS to the TAPPS state final four in 2007-08. An all-around athlete, Keenan earned a combined 13 varsity letters in basketball, baseball, cross country, golf and track at Westbury Christian. Keenan is a sophomore at Wake Forest.
McDermott, a 6-5 forward, is a native of Baltimore, and played at St. Paul's School for Boys in Brooklandville, Md. McDermott earned all-conference honors and was named St. Paul's team MVP after averaging 21 points and 10 rebounds as a senior in 2006-07. In addition to basketball, he also lettered in baseball and volleyball. McDermott is a junior at Wake Forest, majoring in psychology.
The addition of the five players brings the Deacon roster to 17.
