- Key Run: Wake Forest went up 20-7 on an 11-0 run from 15:47 to 12:57 in the first half. The run was capped by back-to-back dunks by freshman Ari Stewart and redshirt senior David Weaver. The Golden Eagles would never pull to within eight again in the game.
- Key Stat: Wake Forest outrebounded Oral Roberts 51 to 25 in the game.
- The starters for Wake Forest were sophomore Al-Farouq Aminu, senior Chas McFarland, senior Ishmael Smith, senior L.D. Williams and sophomore Tony Woods.
- The Deacons led 39-23 at the break. Weaver came off the bench to lead Wake Forest in the first half with eight points on 4-of-5 shooting, also recording four rebounds and a block.

- Aminu recorded his 11th career and second season-opening double-double. With a strong second half, he finished with 25 points - one off his career high - and 13 rebounds. At one point in the second half, he scored nine consecutive points for Wake Forest.
- Williams had 10 points, nine rebounds, four assists and three steals in the game.
- McFarland netted 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
- Stewart had an 11-point debut in 14 minutes of action.
- Freshman C.J. Harris saw his first time as a Deacon with 15:21 left in the first half, recording an assist and a three-point play within his first minute on the floor. He finished the game a perfect 3-of-3, totaling eight points, along with tying a team-best four assists.
- This was Woods' second career start.
- Junior Gary Clark did not dress due to illness.
