Team Records and Series Notes:
- Tonight was the first matchup between these two teams in nine seasons. Wake Forest now leads the series 11-1.
- Wake Forest has not lost at home to a non-conference in-state opponent since the 1985-86 season when Charlotte posted a 62-61 victory at the Memorial Coliseum in Winston-Salem. The Deacons have won 48 straight home games against non-conference in-state opponents, which includes a perfect 41-0 record at the Joel Coliseum.
Wake Forest Team Notes:
- Key Run: Up by three points at the half, Wake Forest came out of the break with an 11-2 run before the first media timeout.
- Key Stat: The Demon Deacons combined for a total of 44 points in the paint, while holding the Panthers to a mere 10.
- Wake Forest used the same starting lineup it used in the first two regular season games: sophomore Al-Farouq Aminu, senior Chas McFarland, senior Ishmael Smith, senior L.D. Williams and sophomore Tony Woods.
- Wake Forest led at halftime, 42-39. The Deacons had 22 points in the paint compared to the Panthers' eight. Aminu led the Deacons with 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting.
- The Deacons shot 51.9 percent (27-of-52) in the contest. The Panthers were held to 35.1 percent (20-of-57), shooting only 24 percent (6-of-25) for 21 points in the second half.
- In fast-break points, Wake Forest dominated 22-3.
- Wake Forest's first lead of the game came at 1:59 left in the first half, 38-37, when McFarland made his second free throw.
- Wake Forest recorded seven dunks and held High Point to zero.
- Wake Forest did not make its first three until 9:49 remaining in the game. Freshman Ari Stewart knocked down a three-pointer to make it a 67-46 Wake Forest lead. This marked the 554th consecutive game in which Wake Forest has made a three-point shot.

Wake Forest Individual Notes:
- After being named ACC Player of the Week following his 24-point and 11-rebound average over the first two games, Aminu finished tonight's matchup with his 12th career double-double. He knocked down a team-high 22 points on 8-of-10 shooting to go with 10 rebounds.
- McFarland recorded his first double-double of the season and fourth of his career in tonight's victory. He totaled 11 points and grabbed 12 boards.
- Smith netted 13 points to go with five assists, five rebounds and two steals.
- Coming off the bench for Wake Forest, freshman C.J. Harris had 12 points on 5-of-6 from the floor.
- Phaethon Bolton, Kyle Fowler, Aaron Ingle and Ryan Keenan all saw their first action for the Deacons this year.
- Junior Gary Clark remained sidelined with an illness.
