Play cancelled for another day
We woke up this morning as planned at 7:00 am and went down for breakfast. Within 10 minutes, coach received a text message informing all coaches that play was cancelled for the day and the facility was closed. Since we couldn't even practice, we scrambled back into bed right after breakfast and manage to get a little more sleep.
We were also got some work done and at 11:00 am, we decided to take a walk around downtown Athens. Even though it was raining, we manage to make our way to Starbucks. At 12:15pm, we met the coaches in the lobby and headed to the mall to find something to do instead of sitting the room all day.
We ate lunch at the mall and decided to do some shopping. Some of us got our nails done and others managed to get a little shopping in. About two hours later we found the coaches sitting in the food court playing a board game they bought at target. We left with some time to spare before Revolution Road started at a movie theatre close by. We decided to get some popcorn and check that out. It was a pretty powerful movie starred by Leonardo Dicaprio and Kate Winslet.
At about 6:30 pm, we went to Pitapit for dinner and came back to the hotel and got more of our weekend schoolwork done. A quick team meeting at 8:15 pm to wrapped up the night, and we got ready for tomorrow. This tournament is going to be an 18-hole shootout, but all we're looking for tomorrow is to play our game instead of trying to press and make things happen.

More splashing in the rain.
We were up at 7:15 am this morning, got dress and went down to the lobby for breakfast. At about 8:15 am, just as we were done with our breakfast and about to head to the golf course, Coach Dailey received a text message notifying all teams that play has been delayed till noon today due to weather. We managed to relax a little and get some work done within that 4 hour delay.
We headed to lunch at Jason's Deli with the news that there was to be a shotgun start at 3:00 pm. The rule officials were hoping we could get at least nine holes in. We arrived at the golf course around 2:00, for the coaches' meeting. The rest of us decided to stretch and get ready for the round in the locker room.
At 2:30, Coach Dailey met us at the locker room and told us that the officials declared the course playable and we were scheduled to tee off at 4:00 pm. So we hopped back in the van and went to the range. As Nannette described it, it was raining cats and dogs out there.
After 10 minutes hitting balls on the range, we gave up trying to stay dry. The range was flooded and so was the course. As we hit each shot, mud splashed all over our face and body. According to weather.com, the rain was supposed to lighten up or stop at 3:00 pm.
It began raining even harder and finally at 3:15 pm, they announced that today's round has been cancelled. Teams began splashing and sliding around in the mud. The coaches had a meeting while we went to get hot chocolate. We finally left the course, showered and got more work done in our rooms. We will be meeting in the lobby at 6:00 pm to head to Last Resort for dinner.
Dinner in Nannette's opinion was absolutely fantastic and marvelous. We even split a piece of chocolate cake for dessert, which was Coach Robin's awesome idea. The coaches drove the van back while the team took a little stroll back to the hotel. It was about 6 blocks away.
We got back to the hotel, relaxed and went to bed. We have a shotgun start tomorrow at 9:30 am. We are to meet downstairs at 7:00 am. There is a possibility that tomorrow's round will be cancelled. Keep checking back in at golfstat.com!

Splashing in the rain - Practice round.
When we got to the course this morning at 9:15 am, it was drizzling a little. Since we have been hitting balls all week at practice, after getting all our rain gear on, we decided to head straight for the putting green. At 10:40 am, we teed of on the first tee. It began to rain pretty hard. By the time we were on the fairway hitting our second shots, rain was coming down hard and we were all drenched from head to toe. As we walk up to the first green, the horn went off for stop play. We collected our golf balls and headed straight to the club house.
We gathered there and tried to dry off as best we could. Sitting out on the patio with the wind blowing on us, sending cold chills through our wet clothes; we decided to gather in the team van to have a team meeting to discuss the course.
At 12:00 pm, the coaches had a team meeting and we headed to the clubhouse to get lunch. We had barbecue pork and chicken fingers. By 1:00 pm, the rain had stopped and we were back out on the course. The rain held off for us through our entire practice round. In addition to that, we had a CNN camera follow us around for almost the entire front nine. They were there to shoot video coverage of Cheyenne. When we made the turn, they interviewed Cheyenne, Coach Dailey, and Nannette.
We got done just in time for dinner at 6:00 pm. They had the same dinner they do every year, fried chicken, meat loaf, mashed potatoes, green beans, some ice cream and banana pudding. When everyone was done with dinner, we started the games. First was the egg toss. I partnered with Dolores and we did fairly well. Nannette and Cheyenne did really good. They made it to the top 10.
Next was the closest to pin contest for the coaches. Finally, we had a fishing tournament. Each team was given a fishing rod and a box of live worms. Cheyenne had my job last year and was in charge of putting the worms on the hook. I was in charge of casting the line. When the time was up, we won with a total of three catches within about 20 minutes. The prize was a 100 dollars gift card to Outback.
We finally headed back to the hotel with a quick stop at the drug store. When we got back to the hotel, we met for about 30 minutes, talked about the course, our uniforms tomorrow, and our strategy. Then we headed to bed watching some basketball games.

Travel day
We went to our classes as usual this morning. At 2:30pm, we packed the van and then left campus.
The ride wasn't too bad. We made a quick restroom stop close to the South Carolina border. The conversation during the ride covered everything it possibly could, from politics, to horoscopes, to relationships, to the teams playing this weekend. At about 6:30pm, we decided to stop at Outback for dinner just 20 miles from of our hotel.
After dinner, we headed straight for our hotel, checked in and rested after a long day on the road. It will be nice to sleep in a little tomorrow since we were up everyday at 5:30am at the previous tournament. We are to meet in the lobby at 9:00am and tee off for our practice round at 10:50am.
