Deacons in the Pros Update - April 22

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The professional baseball season has started again and several former Demon Deacons are making an impact for their respective teams. Below is an update on how former Wake Forest baseball players are faring in the pros.
Dave Bush (1999-2002) is in his fourth year as a starting pitcher with the Milwaukee Brewers. Bush has made three appearances on the season, including two starts and has an 0-0 record and a 5.40 ERA. He made his last start against the New York Mets on April 17 and allowed three runs in six innings.
Mike MacDougal (1997-99) started the season with the Chicago White Sox and made five appearances. He had a 0-0 record and a 12.46 ERA in his five outings. MacDougal was recently designated for assignment by the White Sox.
Matt Antonelli (2004-06) started the 2009 season on the disabled list for the Portland Beavers, the Triple-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres. Antonelli has yet to see action in the 2009 season.
Josh Ellis (2004-07) is playing for the Reno Aces, the Triple-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Ellis has made five relief appearances on the season and has a 2-1 record with a 9.53 ERA. He has earned a win in each of his last two outings. Ellis last pitched on April 20 against Salt Lake City, throwing 1 1/3 scoreless innings and striking out three to pick up his second win of the season.
Cory Sullivan (2000-01) is an outfielder for the Buffalo Bisons, the Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets. Sullivan has played in 11 games on the season and is batting .216 with three RBIs. He went 2-for-5 on April 15 against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Allan Dykstra (2006-08) has started his first full professional season with the Fort Wayne TinCaps, a Single-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres. Dykstra has played in all 11 games for the TinCaps, helping to lead the team to a 10-1 start to the season. He is hitting .200 on the season with five RBIs. Dykstra has had two multi-hit games and has scored at least one run in seven of the team's 11 games.
Andy Goff (2004-08) is a shortstop for the Modesto Nuts, a Single-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies. Goff has seen time in three games on the season and has had two official at bats, going 0-for-2. He has drawn two walks on the season.
Eric Niesen (2005-07) is a starting pitcher for the St. Lucie Mets, a Single-A affiliate of the New York Mets. Niesen has pitched well to start the season, making two starts and recording an 0-1 record with a 1.80 ERA. Niesen started against Fort Myers on April 19, throwing five innings and allowing one unearned runs on three this, while striking out five.
